Genevieve (Gigi) Marentette is a Toronto-based vocalist known for her fearless, genre-blending artistry in jazz, blues, Brazilian, and global music. Performing professionally since age five, she has toured internationally and collaborated with artists such as Jane Siberry, Theo Parrish, and Sean Blackman. Gigi’s recordings including The Heart of 21, Live & Improvised, and Songs of ’69 Volume I—showcase her emotional storytelling, improvisation, and signature stage presence. A co-founder of Toronto’s Kensington Market Jazz Festival, she continues to captivate audiences with her soulful, inventive performances.

With deep respect for the legendary piano trios that shaped jazz history, the group paints their own musical canvas—honouring the past while boldly expressing their unique, contemporary voice.

About the artists

Ewen Farncombe:

Ewen Farncombe is a Juno-nominated pianist and composer based out of Toronto and has been a professional on the scene there for nearly a decade. Having played on various recordings and with numerous bands, he has earned his reputation as a highly skilled musician. While he was attending Humber College for a degree in music performance, he received several prestigious awards, including the Hnatyshyn Foundation Oscar Peterson award. While jazz is Ewen’s passion, he is a versatile player and is known to play many genres of music.

Where music meets mystery.

Sammy Jackson is a Canadian jazz singer known for a warm, expressive voice and a refined approach to classic jazz repertoire. Drawing inspiration from the Great American Songbook, Sammy brings a modern sensibility to timeless standards through thoughtful phrasing and subtle emotional nuance. Their performances emphasize intimacy, storytelling, and a deep respect for jazz tradition.

Sammy will be accompanied by Tom Fleming on guitar.

Tom Fleming is a Toronto-based guitarist, composer, and educator whose work spans jazz and contemporary music. He has performed and recorded with an extensive range of internationally recognized artists and appeared at major festivals and venues across Canada, the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Mexico. A longtime collaborator with Canadian jazz vocalist Barbra Lica, he appears on her JUNO-nominated album I’m Still Learning and her Justin Time release You’re Fine, which includes a co-written track. Tom holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of Toronto and is currently completing a Doctorate in Music.

An intimate, musically rich evening that blends jazz, soul, and timeless classics delivered
with warmth, refinement, and emotional depth. Through thoughtful interpretation and
expressive storytelling, Khea shapes a performance that feels personal, immersive, and
deeply present. In recognition of Black History Month, the evening gently highlights the spirit
and influence of Black musical heritage, threading its depth and history through an
experience that feels both timeless and profoundly connected. 

About the artists

Khea Emmanuel:

Khea, daughter of legendary Motown artist Leroy Emmanuel, is a fearless, self-taught vocalist and songwriter with a deeply rooted love for jazz, blues, R&B, and the classics. Her emotionally charged vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and unforgettable presence captivate audiences of all ages.

Khea has performed alongside and for renowned artists and VIPs, including Natalie Cole, Anne Margaret, Goldie Hawn, and Janice Mitchell, and has appeared at major galas, festivals, and sold-out performances across Canada. She has also developed original music in Los Angeles with the late legendary producer Bob Esty, further shaping her distinctive and soulful sound.
